The Civil Forum announces the launch of the Georgian-Ossetian peace project SPACE- Strengthen Peace and Civic Education, supported by European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia.
SPACE aims to build trust and increase knowdge of peace education among Georgian and South Ossetian communities.
The project aims to increase knowledge and involvement of Georgian and Ossetian youth in peace education. Thanks to the creation of a safe and common online education training course, both Georgian and South Ossetian young leaders can constructively learn about peace education, debate with each other constructively and question the existing practices and attitudes.
The project participants (5 Georgian and 5 Ossetian) will attend a 3-month duration online PEACE education course. Within the project 8 Different e-learning modules will be created by project team namely the following studying modules will be developed:
- Understanding Peace: Visions of Peace.
- Understanding Conflict, its Effects, and Dynamics.
- Conflict Causes, Layers, and Mapping
- Community building: Overcoming prejudice and ensuring diversity.
- Women, Youth, Peace, and Security
- Peace, Human Rights, and Conflict
- Peace Advocacy
- The Attributes of a Peace Educator
At the end of the project, 5 Georgian and 5 Ossetian participants will gather in Tbilisi to conduct joint workshops together. The participants will share their experiences and together they will prepare presentations in peace education for their peer youngsters. These presentations will be on peace education and the necessity of peace in our societies.
